Opinion by AAABTonto:
Millions of Egyptians took to the streets this week in the largest political demonstration in the history of mankind to demand that President Morsi step down. Our media virtually ignored it.
Morsi declined. The Egyptian military gave him 48 hours to effect a political turnaround or resign and he refused. They arrested him. Mohammed Morsi, the democratically-elected president is, or was, the Muslim Brotherhood’s political point man in the Middle East and was fully endorsed by the Obama administration. Obama has said he is “deeply concerned” by the Egyptian military’s political intervention and released a statement calling for a return to civilian rule:
“We are deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsi and suspend the Egyptian constitution,” Obama said. “I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically-elected civilian government as soon as possible.”
Although the US did not call for Mr Morsi’s return to power, the administration urged the military against “any arbitrary arrests” of the ousted president or his Muslim Brotherhood supporters. However, Mr. Morsi was reportedly being held at a military facility while Egyptian troops rounded up hundreds of MB senior Islamists.
This is an amazing turn of events as it is well known that the Obama administration is supportive of the MB and had instigated the ouster of Morsi’s predecessor, Hosni Mubarak. This was the center piece of Obama’s beloved “Arab Spring” of which Obama proudly boasted, claiming it was a “new democracy for the Middle East.” The only problem was that Egyptians didn’t share Obama’s opinion of Mohammed Morsi.
Egypt’s Dangerous Turmoil Is Ultimately Obama’s Doing
This event proves Obama’s illegitimacy in foreign policy and it is shirt he cannot remove. Russia and China have thumbed their nose at Obama in recent weeks. Assad has danced all over Obama’s “red line” daring him to take action in a hell-hole, where the US has no business doing anything–despite the maniacal aspirations of John McCain and Lyndsey Graham. Obama is a paper tiger.
Morsi has pitted Egyptians against one another after declaring emergency power and forcing through a theocratic constitution while intimidating opponents this past November and December. The Muslim Brotherhood condemned the U.N.’s declaration on women’s rights in March, and said it would “lead to the complete disintegration of society.”
Since the MB political takeover in Egypt, violence has reigned supreme and their fragile economy has taken a nose dive. Tourism is down to a trickle. Coptic Christians have been persecuted, murdered and their churches burned in large numbers, while Obama has stood by and said nothing.
The Egyptian people don’t give a damn about Obama’s arrogant visions of an “Arab Spring” or the Muslim Brotherhood’s political aspirations. They want their country back from nearly a century of broken promises. They want jobs, food and their way of life returned–they want their pride restored. Obama thinks that because he was raised as Muslim that he is respected by Muslims and from what I have seen and learned that isn’t how it works. Obama is kuffar …
Thousands of Salafis in Tunisia: Obama, We Are All Osama
Obama does not even respect the people who voted for him. Everyone is beneath him because he is the smartest person in every room he enters. He despises our Constitution and the Founding Fathers who authored it, but he might take a lesson from them if he would bother himself to do so:
“We are the friends of liberty everywhere, custodians only of our own.”
